Keep your wedding day going all night long at some of our favorite bars in a few of our favorite Maine towns: Portland and Camden!
Portland, Maine
Maine’s biggest city and food and drink hotspot unsurprisingly has a great variety of after-party spots. From unique craft cocktail lounges to sports bars overlooking the harbor, Portland has whatever vibe you are looking for. Here are a few of our favorites:
Rira Irish Pub: Great beer list looking over the ferry terminal with views of nearby islands – need we say more? Rira is a classic Portland spot, and we think your guests will feel right at home here. Known for their classic Irish pub vibe and comforting food, we can’t recommend Rira enough!
Bar of Chocolate: The perfect after party spot for any couple with a serious sweet tooth has got to be the Bar of Chocolate. Sample a variety of decadent chocolate-y desserts and indulge in sweet drinks with your guests at this cozy little lounge. Plus – we just learned that peanut butter chocolate martinis exist and that you can get one here.
Independent Ice Co. Okay, we think this one will be popular with the grooms: a whiskey bar. However, there is something for everyone here – with gorgeous hardwood floors, post and beam construction and exposed brick walls (helllooo, Pinterest inspiration!) this place is sure to impress. Plus, there’s a lot more than just whiskey here, with plenty of beer and wine on their menu.
Novare Res Bier Café: Here’s one of our favorite hidden gems in Portland. Located centrally in Canal Plaza, Novare Res is a must-do. The selection here is unmatched with tons of interesting beer options. If you’re a beer loving couple, an after party here is sure to impress your friends.
Hunt and Alpine Club: Last but not least, my personal favorite Portland spot. Scandinavian inspired Hunt and Alpine Club makes a great backdrop for any after party, and the delicious drinks definitely don’t hurt! Our insider tip is to order a few of the charcuterie boards… you will not be disappointed. And of course, the Swedish meatballs.
Camden, Maine
Cuzzy’s: A classic Camden place to have a good time. Have all of your favorite pub food – we’re talking mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers and more, while capping off your wedding day with your closest crew. Enjoy the huge drinks list with every type of beer, wine, and spirits that you can imagine. Plus, there’s a pool table, ping pong, darts and more!
Fresh & Co.: Fresh & Co. is the perfect spot for your Camden afterparty if you love local, craft beer. With an amazing selection on tap, you will be sure to wow visiting guests who are interested in Maine’s beer scene. Plus, who can resist the Maine Beer Co. Lunch IPA?
Peter Ott’s on the Water: As the name would imply, this place is right on the water, making it a great potential after party spot for out of town guests looking to soak up the Maine experience. It doesn’t get any more Maine than those gorgeous water views!
